Located on 100 acres along both sides of the Plum Creek in Hanover, Homewood at Plum Creek is Homewood’s largest community with more than 600 residents. Homewood wants to replace their outdated nurse call system. They are seeking a versatile life safety system that would fit the needs of independent, personal and skilled levels of care with future expansion capabilities. 

What they wanted:

  • Integrated with existing fire alarm
• Wearable emergency call systems that:
  • Locates resident’s campus wide
  • Receives a picture and information about the resident when activated

Our Solution:

It was determined that a hybrid solution would best fit the application.  The Jeron Provider 680+ nurse call system would integrate into their existing Accutech Resident Guard Wander Management System and tie into the existing fire alarm in the skilled nursing areas.  The Acuity Wireless Emergency Call and pendant system is deployed campus-wide (90 cottages and 144 villas) and integrates into the Engenius phone system for caregivers to communicate.  The Acuity wireless pendant system allows residents to call for help anywhere on campus.  When the pendant is pushed a red flashing light appears and the pendant vibrates, letting the resident know a call for help has been placed.  A notification is sent to the main console at the nurse station and includes a picture of the resident so help can be dispatched immediately.

The U.L. certification assures that you are purchasing a system that has been tested and certified to the highest quality and reliability standards. The U.L. certification assures the system will perform well for the residents, assure the calls for help will be received promptly and notify the appropriate people when there is a system trouble. The U.L. certification may minimize any potential legal risk and associated issue that may arise due to installing a non U.L. certified system.
